Missed DoseIf you miss a dose of Lotrisone, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule.
Drug Class and MechanismIt works by weakening the cell membrane of certain fungi. It also acts as an anti-inflammatory and anti-itching agent.. Lotrisone is an antifungal and corticosteroid combination
Do NOT use Lotrisone if:
- you are allergic to any ingredient in Lotrisone
- you are taking pimozide or an ergot alkaloid (eg, ergotamine)
Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.
Some medical conditions may interact with Lotrisone. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:
- if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding
- if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement
- if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances
- if you have diaper rash, eczema, measles, tuberculosis (TB) or a positive TB skin test, chickenpox, shingles, or thinning of the skin
- if you have recently received a vaccination
Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Lotrisone. Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:
- Barbiturates (eg, phenobarbital), carbamazepine, hydantoins (eg, phenytoin), or rifampin because they may decrease Lotrisone Lotion's effectiveness
- Clarithromycin because the risk of certain side effects may be increased
- Ergot alkaloids (eg, ergotamine), imatinib, macrolide immunosuppressants (eg, tacrolimus), live vaccines, pimozide, or ritodrine because their actions and the risk of their side effects may be increased by Lotrisone Lotion
- Hydantoins (eg, phenytoin) or interleukin-2 because their effectiveness may be decreased by Lotrisone
